Nice Full Size kettle, February 15, 2012 By Rene (California United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Primula Catalina Stainless Steel Whistling Tea Kettle, 3-Quart (Kitchen) This PRIMULA kettle was used to replace a COPCO 3qt. kettle which had not aged gracefully. While this kettle is not quite as modern in design as I could have wished, it nevertheless had a couple of design aspects that were required: It had a 3qt. capability. Had a large enough opening that your hand can be used to clean out hard water deposits, and has a positive spout opening mechanism. It arrived promptly, was well made and finished. I have grown accustomed to it's slightly squat shape and find that this also tends to resist the debilitating effects of a burner turned too high. This problem was what started the demise of the COPCO. With a kettle having a right-angle at the bottom & sides excess heat which does not transfer effectively to the liquid inside will tend to travel directly up the side to the plastic material comprising the handle and whistle surround. These do not withstand the heat well. After several weeks use there is something about the form of this kettle... Read more
